No Mans Sky has come a long way since its turbulent initial release in 2016. As No Mans Sky procedurally generates creature designs there will inevitably be many different kinds of Lovecraftian horrors lurking somewhere out there beyond the stars. Before I figured this out I had completed 1 planet and wasted hours upon hours trying to complete others.

I did notice they changed the underwater fauna rules. If you want the mile stones for finding animals just find planets with no wild life go to options and turn in your 100 percent. Thing is its often maddeningly difficult to find the last one or two animals on that list.

If anyone is doing it for the purpose of hitting the all species found milestones. Players can now feed socialize with ride and even bring their favorite discoveries with them. Once you find a promising site try saving and reloading at that location to see if the animals pop up.
