How To Remove Black From Chrome Exhaust Tips
If the tips are chrome use a chrome polish avoid a harsh metal polish unless it says its safe for chrome.

For chrome tips I use chrome polish. Menzerna Polishing Cream and some microfibre towels. Chances are there will be fine pieces of rust on the chrome exhaust pipes.
No need to twist prise lever back the tabs - just get under the car and lightly tap around as much of the trim as you can straight backwards. If you clean your chrome frequently a little dish soap and some warm water work just as well as commercial chrome cleaners. It works immensely good and actually the tips will go from black to slightly dark chrome.
