Avoid using anything that contains alcohol to clean your memory foam earbud. Grasp the earphone using a piece of cloth like the T-shirt between your fingers and the earphones. Wipe down the entirety of the drivers with a soft damp cloth.
Do it carefully or you might rip the foam from the plastic. Use a shirt a towel or paper towel to securely grasp the sleeve. Ear sleeves must be completely dry before reusing.
The best thing to do is place them in the freezer in a ziplock bag for about 5-10 minutes. If your earphones have foam covers you can also remove and clean those with warm water and soap. Wipe the earphones and sleeves with mild antiseptic to avoid infections.
Do not immerse any part of the actual earbud or its mechanical parts into water. Place the earphones in the freezer overnight. Wash the tips with soapy water.
How to Change Shure Earphone Sleeves. The foam tips made by Shure can be uncomfortable -the foam feels like sandpaper in my ears- and they are expensive. Continue brushing these stubborn spots until the dirt and other gunk loosens up then wipe it away with your clean.
